Intermediate Recording Production and Mixing Studio is a studio control room and serves as an intermediate-level studio for multitrack recording and mixing techniques. It provides an important cornerstone experience upon which all-future hands-on studies and experiences will be built. After stepping through a series of controlled, goal oriented projects to get a practical understanding of multitrack production and signal processing concepts, students are encouraged to be creative in applying their understanding of core principles to approved projects of their own design. This further establishes and refines their creative problem solving skills, while learning to think on their feet and to fully exploit available resources. Technologies include a digital audio workstation and a tape based digital multitrack as well as both virtual and hardware mixing platforms.
