We are looking for an engineer to help our team build the best music intelligence products and grow our database of detailed data. The perfect candidate is passionate about music and data, is a solid and responsible developer, and can learn new material quickly.The heart of our product is the Audio Analyzer. As an Audio Engineer here, you will contribute to design, development, porting, testing, and release of the Analyzer as well as supporting Python library code to weave the audio results into our API. Other audio innovations include new subjective attributes and enabling the next generation of dynamic audio applications.Responsibilities:
• design, write, and test C++ and Python code on Mac and Linux (and occasionally Windows) to deliver fast, robust code for analyzing audio into musically interesting metadata
• work on a small team focused on audio innovation, music analysis, and acoustic similarity
• self-motivated task planning and deadline management
• maintain and constantly improve the quality of our API audio data and web services API
The Ideal Candidate has:
• 1-3 years professional software development experience or significant internships
• Linux operational experience (shell scripting, cron, ssh, command-line interaction, C++ development)
• BA/BS in Computer Science or related; Master’s degree or audio/music education a plus
• ability to identify musical concepts such as tempo, key, mode, and time signature
• experience with digital audio concepts such as encoding/decoding, sample rate, and filtering
• highly motivated to learn and grow
